The New Zealand Medical Journal is a peer-reviewed medical journal. It is the official journal of the New Zealand Medical Association. The present editor-in-chief is Professor Frank Frizelle. The journal is a member of The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).[1]

Due to financial reasons in July 2002 the journal discontinued its hard copy print version and now only publishes as an online internet journal.[2] Based in Christchurch, the journal publishes editorials, original articles, case reports, viewpoint, and letters. The full text of articles less than 6 months old is available only to subscribers. Access is free to articles older than 6 months and abstracts.[3]
